Ring a ding ding
Some days I think I am losing my mind-or already lost it and get reminded that it isn’t there. I am convinced that my gym bag is too big because it JUST fits in the locker at the gym. I got it because I thought I needed something that was big enough to hold all of my stuff. I carry quite a bit in my bag already like a seperate makeup bag with extra stuff…these water pouches (neat idea from Walmart long ago), a pen, lock, cds, headphones, hairspray, comb, my gym clothes and an extra bag to put my jewelry in when I bring it with me to change.
Sounds like a lot eh? Well in reality, it isn’t too much-maybe that is why my bag is just too big. It is really hard to carry around as well, and I have learned with my back problem that I cannot carry just any old bag around or else it will put immediate strain on my lower hip. I guess that will be on my agenda next time I go shopping-smaller gym bag for cheap, please!
So a few days ago (the day of my interview for the potential job) I went to the gym before I went down South. I was having bad hair that day (and lately quite often, DAMN I hate growing out my bangs!!!), so I decided to bring along my funky French beret to put on along with my cool and funky outfit.(I went through great pains to figure out what to wear that would be appropriate!!) I went to the locker and took off my gym gear and changed in to my outfit (after a good work out no less!). I put everything on and then my hat was last. I had just realized that the big ring I stuck in my hat was no longer in my bag. I thought I lost it.
Terror struck me and I emptied out my bag on the gym floor..the ring was gone. Then I emptied out my purse (good lordie I carry alot) and searched like a madwoman. I was CONVINCED that I had the ring with me-and I LOVE this ring…it is my most FAVORITE ring..love love love love love it! It is so unique and big…obnoxious but so me…it was really cheap too and I remember seeing it for 2 times as much over at The Bay-so then I had to think that I would have to go and buy a new one and spend twice as much- totally would for a ring like this!
My brain went wild, I wanted to cry because I KNEW I had it but had no clue where I lost it. Damn I hate when that happens! I went to the interview still thinking about this ring that I lost..somehow hoping it would appear again so I could adore it. The day went by and I came home to finally take off my hat…well if this isn’t a blonde moment then I don’t know WHAT is! When I took off my beret, my ring came flying out. I honestly didn’t feel ANYTHING on my head..and my beret has these folds in it, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the ring nestled in one of them and didn’t move.
I felt like the biggest idiot around and I think I really WAS for that day…I remember taking off my hat and looking in it but NOTHING was there…how wierd is that? When I wore it, I thought I felt something kinda wierd on the side of my head, but it wasn’t until I felt the actual ring slide down from the top of my head to the inside corner of the hat that I knew I was totally losing it! I guess I knew all along that the ring was in my hat, but I didn’t even think to look in it THAT well.
Yup, Lisa is losing sweat AND her mind! ![]()
