Day 10
Today I got out of bed late..too late…that is because I went to bed last night late…WAY too late. Haha Oh well, it has been ages since I have pulled a 4:00 am sleep time. I dragged my sorry butt out of bed today and just moped around the house. I had a HUGE peach because I needed my breakfast even though it was definitely in to lunch time when I had it. The almonds that I got from Costco are not all that great-not soft and tasty, but harder and dry-too bad the bag is so big so now we have to keep it. Thank goodness for the nice fresh cashews that I throw in the container to add variety.
I didn’t have too much of an appetite today which is probably why I ended up cooking my dinner quite late. I went ahead and made the Chick pea patties with squash-it was the first time I got to use my food processor to mash up the chick peas too and what a difference. It was like I had hummus instantly made. The preparation took a bit longer because I had to grate the potatos and squash. The dish turned out GREAT-it is always so surprising that this dish is on a detox especially since you have to fry it up.
It is a pretty simple recipe, just mash the chick peas, grate the squash and potatoes, mix with an egg, lemon pepper, cumin, parsley, onions and salt…then fry. YUMMY!! It tastes like a hashbrown potato patty with some crunch to it, but a nice earthy taste. I had about 2 or 3, and had a tomato that was cut up with onions and oil.
For my late night snack I had popcorn with salt and chili powder. I ate it anyways even though I had it around midnight=that was ok for me because my sleep pattern got thrown off a bit with waking up so late.
So really, all I had today was a peach, popcorn, nuts, chick pea patties and tomatoes. Not too bad even though that wasn’t much food or veggies-I ran out of carrots and should really get some soon!!
I weighed myself just for the sake OF (see what a bad habit the scale can be??) and am back to 128…with only 2 days left of my detox, I am pretty sure that I was about 134 pounds before I start it. There is NO way that you don’t lose weight on this detox…so I really doubt that I was 128 pounds all along…good thing I did this before I got too involved with the chocolate and good food! WHEW!!
