Day 9
Well it was SO nice to be able to get out of bed at 9:00 am this morning..how disgusting that THIS hour means I am sleeping in! Of course, I still woke up a few times between 7:00 am and 8:00 am…and it didn’t help that last night around midnight when I was on the phone, I kept falling asleep in the conversation. The sun was shining bright today and I had to get up at 9:00 am so that I could get ready for my chiro appointment. Geesh, from one Doctor to another…there I go! That is ok because it is better to get them out of the way before school and the grind start up!
The day was kind of all over the place since I had to be out and about doing some major errands. With the last few days of official freedom upon me, I gotta cash in on it!
I ran to the chiro for my appointment and munched on a nice nectarine. My back is doing really well (along with my neck) and he told me I could go in a month or so! Good-maintenance is exactly what I want! I wonder if my back has been getting better BECAUSE I am not going to the gym….we will see as I will start up again on Wednesday and see what happens.
I made sure to snack on some plain air popped corn and carrots as well as drink my usual water. Then when I got home and it was time for dinner, I had a roasted breast of chicken and some of the spring greens salad. Needless to say I was hungry not long after but my cousins came over and my mind was busy. Before it got too late, I just decided to have 2 rice cakes with almond and cashew butter. That was about it. I had to serve them home made cookies and brownies and junky stuff…but it didn’t really bother me. I wasn’t CRAVING any of that stuff so this is a good sign!!
Russ wants to make one of his awesome cheesecakes after I am finished, but I have already said that I am not going to touch it. I don’t want to waste all of the hard work I have done to be SPOT ON with this diet on a piece of cheesecake, or anything that is junky for that matter. Being on this detox has forced me to eat the healthy stuff and cook from scratch. I have to take great care that I don’t end up blowing it all for just anything, though it WILL be tempting.
So when I am done this all, I will really be happy to have regular salad dressing with my salad. That is the one big thing I have missed. Not so much the bread or the sugar, but the salad dressing. I am not a big bread eater anyways-but I will be sure to make everything I eat on whole grain bread (cause in essence, I WILL have to start bringing my lunches with me to school, and my dinners to work) with tasty whatever.
I gotta make sure this feeling lasts…!
