Note to ones self..NEVER eat pizza an hour before working out. Actually, just don’t eat pizza!! I had some leftover pizza from yesterday and needed to have a filling lunch so that I could work out and teach without having to eat in between. I ate 2 slices of leftover pizza and headed out to the gym. By the time I got there, it was already a bit late so I could only use the eliptical for 25 minutes, stretch and change in to my teaching clothes to leave. As I was working out I could feel this weight in my stomach and I didn’t want to push myself that hard. It didn’t help that the pizza had left me thirsty so I was always guzzling water but never really quenching my thirst. (There is more where this came from … )

Updating My Supplies

I am grouched at the fact that I didn’t get a chance to get down to the gym today. The last time I was there was on Tuesday and I haven’t been able to get anything done at home here either! If it wasn’t for that job interview, I was going to head down there. That is ok but I don’t like that if I don’t go tomorrow or Sunday, I will have ended up with 2 days a week again!! I went to the store looking for a good pair of shorts but nothing has done well which is annoying. I found a pair of black ROOTS ACTIVE yoga pants which fit really well and are quite nice, so I took those! I also found some workout gloves which miiiiiight be a size small for me but I have to test them out. At the gym where I work out, you are supposed to sanitize every piece of equipment you touch. It is rather annoying having to spray everything down after you use it, so the gloves should help to alleviate that problem!

They are quite nice too..Nike gloves that show your fingers and have suede on the bottom of them for good grip! Now I just need to find a smaller gym bag because mine is just too big-it is awkward to carry and doesn’t fit so well in the lockers, plus it puts strain on my back when I have it full of my stuff.

Other than that, all has been quiet on the fitness front and now my body is getting really mad at me! :(

Feeling the Burn

Can I start this off with an OUCCCCHIE?? No, not my ear, though I am going to the clinic to get it looked at, but my bodddday!! I really forgot the after effects that one gets after doing a step workout. Sure, I was rocking it yesterday and being all high and mighty at the fact that I could make it out of that workout alive. When I woke up today, I was raring to get to the gym. Got my Leprechaun green outfit on and went down to the usual place. I was feeling fine with no effects, and even though I was a bit late getting started, I managed to get to the gym with a good half hour left. (There is more where this came from … )

Getting back on track…again

Yikes, the week has gone by and finished and now another one is starting up again! Since I brought my car in to the shop to get fixed (on Wednesday), I have not been able to get down to the gym. This means that last week I only pulled in two rounds and that was it. I SO should have done home workouts, I mean I have a bazillion workout tapes from my mom’s collection, plus a handful of my own. I have a bench step with platforms and weights as well…I just let myself be really busy and occupied with other things (funny how fast that can happen), and all the while I felt guilty schmilty about the whole thing!!! Still Waiting

Talk about having a real DENT in your plans! I still don’t have my car back yet but am hoping that today is the day it returns to me. This is rather annoying for only the fact that I can’t get down to the gym. I guess that now I was in a routine and really liking it. I could be doing my own thing at home but meh…that is what I am paying $6 bucks a week at the gym for! At least I got in two days which is good, and hopefully IF my car is coming home tonight, I can go tomorrow and Sunday, and still keep up my goal of 4 days a week!!

I don’t have many workout DVD’s that I can use on the DVD player downstairs in the main family room, or else I would be doing those I think. The only working VCR is in my parents room and I don’t like the layout of it enough to go and do my old tapes to…I guess I am just being spoiled by wanting to physcially GO to a facility that promotes health and fitness instead of doing it at home. Why not? I CAN go so I should right? Well, when my car is alive at least! I just have to make sure that in the bad weather months, I get on track and work on doing my tapes at home. Or else I will fall in to the same trap as before and get all out of shape again. My back is definitely loving me for building muscles and moving because I haven’t felt any pain quite yet, and I should technically be due for a Chiropractor appointment sometime this week, but I probably won’t need to!

Ah well, won’t be long till I am back on track again! :)

A Dent in My Routine

Due to car conditions I wasn’t able to get down to the gym today. Sigh. This might be disgusting but I felt like I was totally missing something. I mean, what else is there to do on your day off when you are trying to avoid shopping and don’t have access to a car? It is wierd how I am so used to going to the gym Monday-Friday with no problems. It makes me wonder what I am going to do in the winter months when I can’t get down there. Then again, I COULD have done a work out video at home now that I think of it! Ooops!!! I guess I am getting spoiled with actually leaving the house to go and get healthy. Ahh well…it looks like I won’t be able to go tomorrow because my car probably won’t be ready until the late afternoon as well. I will have to make up for it by going on Friday, Saturday and maybe Sunday just so I can keep getting in the groove.

Now that I am in a set routine, it feels really awkward if I don’t go down there..but that is ok, at least I have gone two times so far and still have a few more times left. I just wonder when oh WHEN my muscles are going to decide to find their way in my body and start bulging out..guess that is gonna take some steroids or a thunder bolt in the parking lot! :roll:

Some day, my muscles will come…and ohhhhh what a glorious day it will be when I can whip out my biceps and actually have something hard to show on them as opposed to something that hangs south! :( haha

A Little Bit of Variety

So the gym thing is going really well so far, I am quite impressed. I am also looking healthier thanks to using my FAVORITE self tanner. L’oreal Sublime Gelee in Dark! There is such a difference when you wear your workout outfit and don’t blend in with the walls!! Today was my cardio day-yesterday I did the usual Eliptical for 30 minutes and the circuit for the last 20 minutes. I decided to try and do 15 reps on each set, but by the time I hit the last part of the circuit, I was struggling with 12!! It is pretty hard on the arms to keep pumping them when you get to the end of the line-the legs are tough too, but that is ok..I keep breathing and praying that I can do that one last pump! Some days I think I am losing my mind-or already lost it and get reminded that it isn’t there. I am convinced that my gym bag is too big because it JUST fits in the locker at the gym. I got it because I thought I needed something that was big enough to hold all of my stuff. I carry quite a bit in my bag already like a seperate makeup bag with extra stuff…these water pouches (neat idea from Walmart long ago), a pen, lock, cds, headphones, hairspray, comb, my gym clothes and an extra bag to put my jewelry in when I bring it with me to change. Almost There

I was awakened today by a phone call..the lady who is going to sell me my flat iron for my hair called just before 10:00 am! YUCK-not fun when you go to bed at 4:30 am (oopsie!) the night before. By the time I dragged my butt out of the house it was already 1:00. I decided to get dressed in my workout gear but it was SO hot-blah the weather outside makes you melt nowadays, and it was then that I realized I really DO need some shorter pants or shorts to wear to the gym. I am finding that it gets too hot to be in sweat pants-but the only shorts I have are those spandex biker babe shorts..YIKES! (There is more where this came from … )

No Time for Talk

So far I have been doing well with going to the gym often. I once again made it in today for a sole cardio workout in the Eliptical trainer. I didn’t have much time because I got there later than I had planned (I spent an extra hour typing up my resume), but I figured that even getting about 40 minutes of a work out was still really good. Enough to burn off the calories of my Kinetix bar which actually isn’t too bad. (There is more where this came from … )
