Not Healthy?

Filed under: Random Happenings — Lisa at 12:30 pm on Monday, June 26, 2006

Yep-I got told that I don’t look healthy by my cousin! hah I don’t know if that merits any concern but this has been happening more often than not lately. A few people have already asked me what is going on because I apparently look way skinnier to them now than I did even a few weeks ago. A teacher stopped and asked me what was going on and I said…”Nothing??” cause nothing IS going on as far as I know. My uncle pointed the same thing out and said that the weight I have lost was gained by him AND his daughter-not nice to say infront of his daughter! lol I must admit that I haven’t been on the scale cause I use my clothes to let me know when I am good or getting too healthy if you know what I mean! haha (There is more where this came from … )

Chocolate What?

Filed under: My Attempt at Fitness — Lisa at 11:14 pm on Monday, June 19, 2006

I have to report that I am stunned to discover that I haven’t had chocolate since at LEAST March 14th!! Can you imagine? The once self professed chocoholic hasn’t had any of that good stuff in over THREE months? This is definitely the longest I have gone without chocolate of any degree-even anything that has cocoa in it is a big no-no for me. The thing is, I haven’t even been craving chocolate at all. I have bought it for my prize box, bought it for my friend right from Purdy’s, but nothing has clicked in my head to want it. (There is more where this came from … )

Yogurt-to-try-this!

Filed under: Lisa's Picks — Lisa at 10:51 pm on Monday, June 12, 2006

Aren’t I funny? Or not! hah I was at Safeway a few days ago and decided to buy some Yogurt. I usually get it and then never end up eating it all, thus going bad and then having to be thrown out. So I upgraded to just getting those small tubs of yogurt where I could control how much I have. Of course, I never finish the stuff and it goes through the same process as above. Tasty Finds

Tonight I tried a new dish from Michelinas Avantage Line. If you remember, not long ago I raved about the whole grain rice dishes that I came across. This time I tried the ROASTED RED PEPPER TORTELLINI dish which was AWESOME! I absolutely loved the tortellini even though there wasn’t much in there to begin with! However, I was impressed to find out that the Tortellini is whole wheat which is even better. 6 grams of fat and an excellent pepper sauce but not too peppery. I am glad I bought two of these dishes-I can’t wait to have the next one…maybe another day! haha (There is more where this came from … )

Power of POM

Filed under: Lisa's Picks — Lisa at 11:27 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2006

For many months I have been hearing about POM, Pomegranate juice. Whether it be ads in the paper or people mentioning it, or the high price of the small bottle at the store, it has always been in my vision at some point. (There is more where this came from … )

Holey Moley Cabbage Roll-ey

Filed under: Lisa's Picks — Lisa at 10:39 pm on Sunday, June 4, 2006

Here is a picture of my newest sensation (no, not Crocs!)…I talk about these all the time and absolutely am FUNKY crazy about them. Cabbage Rolls! The BEST Cabbage Rolls I have ever tasted in my life and the best in town. I get them from the Farmer’s Market on Sundays usually because they are amazingly awesome. So awesome I had to show you a picture!

Each roll is REALLY big and very moist inside. The rice melts in your mouth and you can get a nice flavoring of salt and mild spices. The cabbage is always perfectly tender so that you don’t end up crunching on anything, and they cook it in tomato juice or some sort of sauce. I am nuts about these and always buy 2 at a time. I can usually only ever finish one but always look forward to the next day when I can have the leftover. For $2.50 each roll, you can’t go wrong!! So if you want the best Cabbage Rolls in town (hand made fresh and cooked for you), head over to the Farmer’s Market by the Saddledome and treat yourself to a nice bit of Ukrainian dinner. :)
