Day 12-the LAST day!!!
So it is the final day and YAY!! I can’t say that this detox has been hard on me this round because I have really enjoyed my food-the one thing I don’t like doing on this detox is taking the 7 herb supplements twice a day-they are so natural and nasty tasting when you get them in your mouth. Some detox’s have me actually get nauseated from them even though you swallow them.
I started off the morning with my steel cut oats and a dash of cinnammon which was tasty. Too bad I didn’t have a bowel movement right away in the morning because I KNEW it would come to me right in the middle of the music lesson with a student. And as predicted, around 12:00 I had to run to the toilet and do my thing. With this detox, you can’t hold the poops for very long or else you will have a nasty and stinky mess on the floor! lol
I was able to snack on some almonds during my students lesson which is good for me because even a handful stops the hunger and keeps me happy-plus you can sneak it in! heehee Then for lunch I had my leftover salmon, rice and beans dish which was great except the salmon smelled up the office SO badly when it was heated up! It still tasted good though! Then when I got home much later on, I was looking very forward to my two eggs, sunny side up on 2 brown rice cakes with sliced tomatoes and young broccoli for the side. There is just something SO satisfying about having eggs-mmmmmm and the ones from the market have such nice yolk that it almost looks orange-that is the REAL stuff, not the crap stuff you get at the stores!
Later on I had popped corn for a snack and that was my night!!
And now it is technically Sunday the 4th and I weighed myself for the last time on this detox and was happy to see that I was at 125.5 pounds! YAY I actually weighed in at 126 and then I took off my bra and lost .05 pounds-lol I guess there is something to be said for having good support!!!
So for me, this detox was a great way to boost my metabolism and force me to eat whole foods and get off the crap stuff I was eating before. The bonus is that I enjoyed doing it and I lost 6 pounds which may not seem much to most people, but honestly, I was only ever able to lose up to 7 pounds on any detox, whereas most people lose from 7-15 pounds. I haven’t been 125.5 pounds for YEARS and it feels really awesome so I am going to work on keeping it all up and following the detox style of eating for as long as possible-that will be my challenge. No breads and dairy for as long as I can handle it. Of course I will continue with the proteins and vegetables and grains along with the nuts and seeds so things should be fine. I am even looking forward to having some seafood too.
Infact (and unfortunatly), tonight my brother is taking the family out to Red Lobster-a seafood joint in town…I haven’t been there for years and years and don’t really want to go because you KNOW all their food is oily and greasy-but who knows? They may have something light on the menu for starters-surely something steamed?? I HOPE so or else I will be in trouble! lol
This detox is definitely worth its weight in gold and like I said, the fact that I even lost weight is a bonus-sooooooooo let’s go shopping…grocery shopping that is! lol
